Ordering WINdoûr & ROLdoûr Window Blinds with a Frame Depth Extender

When you might need a depth extender

If your window handle (or latch) sticks out into the space where the blind frame would sit, the blind / blind handle may get caught or may not open or close properly.

A frame depth extender creates extra clearance so your blind can operate normally once it has been installed.

Depth extender options

We offer two extender depths:

• 20mm depth extender

• 45mm depth extender

If you’re unsure which one you need, measure how far your handle protrudes from the window recess and choose the extender that gives enough clearance.

How to order

Depth extenders are available as an add-on (additional cost) when ordering your window blind.

• The extender colour will match the blind frame colour you choose.

• Extenders are supplied separately in the same packaging and will not arrive attached to the blind frame.

Installation overview (extender first, blind second)

You’ll fit the extender to the window area first, then fit the blind to the extender.

Step 1: Fix the depth extender in place

Position the extender so it overlaps the window/frame area and provides the clearance you need.

You can fix the extender using one of the following methods:

• Screws (pre existing holes in the extender to screw through)

• Bonding/adhesive

• Strong 3M tape

Make sure the extender is secure, level, and correctly aligned before moving to the next step.

Step 2: Fit the blind to the extender

Both the ROLdour and WINdour blinds can be fixed to the frame extender by using a strong 3M tape only

Quick checklist before you start

• Confirm your handle clearance and choose 20mm or 45mm extender.

• Check you’ve ordered the extender as an add-on.

• Ensure surfaces are clean and dry before using tape or adhesive.

• Fit the extender first, then the blind.
