ROLdoûr Slimline Window Blind – DUO & Single Slide (Vertical or Horizontal) Assembly, Fitting & Cleaning Guide
Before you start
-
Your ROLdoûr Slimline arrives part-assembled.
-
Work on a clean, dry, flat surface to avoid scratching the frame.
-
Confirm which version you have:
-
DUO (Double Slide): two moving screens (typically blind + net) in one frame.
-
Single Slide: one moving screen (blind or net) in one frame.
-
Decide your intended operation:
-
Vertical operation: slides up/down.
-
Horizontal operation: slides left/right.
1) Identify the parts
Depending on your model, you will have:
-
Outer frame sections
-
Top and bottom tracks
-
Roller cartridge unit(s) (Single = 1, DUO = 2)
2) Assembly
-
Lay the frame on a flat surface.
-
Identify the roller cartridge unit(s).
-
Locate the two tracks.
-
Slot the tracks into the cartridge sides of the frame until fully seated.
-
If the strings are too tight to allow you to fix the frame together, you will need to locate the string tensioning blocks in the door tracks where the string is attached to. You will need a screwdriver to loosen the blocks and once you have done this, move the blocks to the side to allow you to slot the tracks into the cartridge. Re-tension the string after and make sure that they are completely parallel to each other to ensure that the door opens and closes evenly.
-
Check the slide action:
-
Single: the screen should move smoothly end-to-end.
-
DUO: both screens should move smoothly and independently.
3) Plan your fitting position (important)
Before fixing in place, check:
-
Depth clearance: allow for the cartridge + handle depth (88.5mm) at the operating side.
-
Handle clearance: ensure the handle(s) won’t hit window handles, latches or trims
-
End frame/doorstop position: confirm the side where the screen should “park” when closed.
-
Operation direction:
-
For vertical operation, confirm which end is “top” before fixing.
-
For horizontal operation, confirm whether you want the handle to open from the left or right (for single screen option only)
4) Installing the ROLdoûr Slimline
Choose the method that matches your installation.
Option A: Overlapping the window opening (face-fix)
-
Hold the frame in the final position and ensure it is square.
-
Mark fixing points.
-
Fix the frame using suitable screws for your surface.
-
Re-check that the screens slide freely.
Option B: Recessed fitting (between trims / inside a reveal)
Method 1: Screw fixing
-
Drill suitable fixing holes into the frame (avoid drilling into moving track areas).
-
Position the frame in the recess.
-
Screw the frame securely into place.
-
Confirm smooth operation.
Method 2: Tape fixing (e.g., 3M VHB)
-
Clean and degrease the mounting surface fully.
-
Apply tape to the rear of the frame (if an overlap fit) or on the sides (if a recessed fit).
-
Position carefully (tape is difficult to reposition once pressed).
-
Press firmly along the full perimeter.
5) Finishing for a neat fit (recommended)
Once fitted and operating correctly:
-
Apply a neat bead of caulk or silicone around the outside edges of the frame.
-
This improves the finish and helps prevent light gaps.
6) Removing the cartridge(s) for cleaning
You can remove the cartridge(s) even when the frame is installed.
-
Start by unclipping the 2 parts of the handle section and slide the loose end all the way across.
-
Gently release the cartridge from the frame section by putting your fingers under the front end of the cartridge and pulling slowly in an upward position.
-
Lift out to remove the cartridge.
-
DUO models: repeat for the second cartridge.
7) Refitting the cartridge(s) after cleaning
-
Insert the cartridge back into the frame section and press down until it clicks into place.
-
Slide the other part of the handle section back into place and clip back together with the main handle part.
-
Test operation:
-
Single: one smooth sliding action.
-
DUO: both screens slide smoothly and close neatly.
Notes & care
-
Clean frame surfaces with a soft cloth and mild cleaner.
-
Avoid abrasive pads or harsh solvents.
